But will it be even slightly as good as TECH ROMANCER???
I can’t count how many times I’ve watched this over the years, but it has never, and WILL never, get any less funny.
More people need to see Charlotte Hatherley’s “Behave”, for real:
Someone call Uncanny Valley Life Alert!
A review is by definition subjective. If you want objective, read the game features on Wikipedia or something.
I challenge anyone to find a bigger gap in show-to-theme-song quality than BERSERK.
I’m not really a fan of the Flash, but I am a HUGE fan of Wally. He’s one of my favorite superheroes.
Hell yes, Rise from the Ashes is my favorite mech game outside of the ZOE series. How did it all go downhill from there?
Um...I really want to play it...

Amazing.
THE LION KING
Great piece!! I agree that the supposed driving force of KH1, the Kairi romance, is basically forgotten in all the sequels in favor of the bromances. As much as I like the guys’ relationships, a big part of why I was always excited by the idea of Kairi getting a keyblade was that MAYBE if she were also part of the…
That’s...straight up eerie now.
My comment was specifically about how only the earliest bit of Nausicaa was there to be adapted and thus Miyazaki had to graft a new ending onto the beginning chapters of a much longer story. The ending doesn’t lead into the manga’s story, it nullifies it.
Sorry, as one of my favorite pieces of fiction (and art) ever, I can’t bring myself to classify three quarters (or more?) of Nausicaa as a “bonus” to anything. The movie’s cool, one of the best ever, but it contains only a fraction of what makes the manga amazing. The entire point that it all comes to was either…
I sort of thought that, until I read the manga...and now the movie is pretty much a straight bummer for me story-wise. What remains of the story is pretty light and ends super suddenly. Every other vintage Miyazaki movie (at least up through Spirited Away) tells a more complete and satisfying story. But again, like…
Otomo began adapting his story to film when he’d only even written & drawn the first chunk of it. So yeah, it’s a vastly inferior story to the manga...but the bulk of the manga didn’t even exist yet when it was made and was there for unadaptable.
There is precedent.
