Oh yeah, I always thought this was funny in my hometown in the 90’s, they built all these lofts and condos downtown and advertised them as being for hip young professionals. They were actually filled by all my friends’ parents who’d sold their big houses after the kids moved out.

In 2011 Wells Fargo changed the minimum on my checking account to $1000, which is why I moved to a credit union. I’m privileged and financially solid and live in a big city so I had that option, but of course a lot of poorer folks are not so lucky. It’s always been bigger in areas with lots of Italian-Americans, maybe a sort of Italian Pride day?
