They legally can make those people come into the office or be fired. “Reasonable accommodation” for disabilities does not stretch in nearly the ways some people think it does.

He’s not wrong about that second one.

I personally found this article somewhat disingenuous. “Those right-wingers are making a big deal of this and saying it didn’t have a lot of coverage. By the way, it’s not really getting a lot of news coverage, and we don’t know, it might be a big deal.” Yeah, these Republicans are sounding the alarm because of

Isn’t this proof that the ChatGPT’s internal model is horribly biased, and even the “normal” answers are probably coming from said bias?

This system was pioneered by Jack Welch at GE back in the 80's. Jack died a couple years back, so you will probably not be able to meet him.

I’m with you. Electric coil sucks, even on a flat-top. Induction is far superior. If I had gas, I’d use gas, but my kitchen doesn’t have the hookup for some reason.

That is exactly what’s happening here, yes. The arguments being made against it are forced at best.

The tax situation is not only not that much different, but there are times when the tax code actively punishes married people (the “marriage tax”).

I’m going to Las Vegas next week, I am gonna try to stop there if I find time!

This isn’t a bad theory as they go. As nVidia well knows, it’s a lot easier to lower your prices than raise them, so why not start high and then lower them as old inventory clears and new inventory builds?

That’s a very charitable way of describing what happened. The reality is that Valve didn’t “scrap everything”, it was more like “the game was way way behind schedule and the leak showed it”.

You are correct. Macro is a bit of a black art which tends to be a bit too focused on the last big event (both Keynes and Galbraith suffered from this, in particular). Unfortunately, people think micro is, too, and they’re gravely mistaken...

If you knowingly run around and spread covid, this is a serious problem. I’d like to believe most people aren’t advocating that.

Yeah, if this happened three years ago, I’d probably be OK with shaming him, too. Vomiting blood, yikes. That’s not a minor illness.

6. I can plug my Deck into a dock and use it as a gaming PC for all the games where the Deck controls aren’t quite good enough.

I was driving through rural PA a couple months ago and I was shocked at just how many signs like that I saw. They are desperate for people, and paying wages that ain’t bad for the area.

I definitely waffle on this a bit myself. I’ve stayed in everything from 5-stars to semi-trashy motels, and I think there are diminishing returns on both ends. The 5-star had some nice amenities (and didn’t charge for WiFi!), and it FELT more professional and personal, but at the end of the day, it was still a room

I’m not really sure I agree. Many recruiters - especially the ones in big shops - are more like realtors and just want to sell as fast as possible. $10k to you is $1k to them (making up numbers here), and getting you in the door a few weeks faster is absolutely worth it.

Yeah, I agree that this is mostly a problem with the games. PC games were never intended for 7" screens at 720p. They’re going to need some changes.

Did that with AOL, and spent the next 3 months finding a new job. This isn’t a terrible market to do that in, though.
