I bought a Wii U when Gamestop was blowing them out a couple years ago. There were like... six games total I thought were worth buying out of the entire catalog. I think half of them have been ported to the Switch by now.

Oddly enough, it’s the exact opposite for me. I usually buy Nintendo consoles late in the game, and Sony/Microsoft consoles early on. I was pretty bummed I couldn’t get a PS5 preorder this year, albeit my XSX preorder did happen (hopefully).

Is that what happened? I realized at 11:40 that I forgot to jump on the preorders, got some 404-esque action from Amazon, and then magically managed to grab one from Amazon at like 11:47AM when I hit them again out of desperation. Worked for me, and had no idea why.

My LG can do this, too. It’s a neat trick. Looks a little screwy due to the aspect ratio being wrong, but better than nothing. If consoles had natively implemented it with a locked 60hz refresh rate (30fps for each player), it would have been amazing.

We don’t block footage of 9-11. That footage is all over YouTube. Whether it’s a little tasteless to show a few hundred real-life people dying in your game’s trailer is perhaps a different question, but there’s no legal reason you couldn’t do it, and the USG isn’t gonna ban your game from distribution if you did.

Yes, it’s much like me complaining that we make too much money to even use Roth IRAs anymore. They were nice while they lasted.

Roth IRA isn’t the worst choice (no penalties on withdrawing contributions), but it is way more advantageous in the long-term to leave that money in there. I’d personally just dump it in a money market account.

401k is NOT the place for a down payment. You will not be able to get that money back out before you retire. IRA is also a bad choice.

IMHO, CDs are fucking awful right now. The rates on them are NOT worth locking your money up for years at a time. I would not recommend them to anyone. About the only sane reason to get one is to force yourself not to touch the money, and I’d argue the CD is a band-aid around the real problem.

I came here purely for the comments, but I’ll also say that you need to look at your financial portfolio and future commitments in a bit more of an integrated fashion than “you need 3-6 months of living expenses in savings”.

Savings account since it’s a short-term maneuver.
