I don’t really get stories, other than they’re somewhat chronological. My biggest complaint w IG is the random freaking order. I’m forever seeing posts that are all heyyy this is happening now/tonight/tomorrow, and then there’s that little grey datestamp saying ‘5 days ago’.

Men have slandered women and sabotaged us since forever from the safety of their all-men’s environments, but as soon as women start networking to defend ourselves, people get in a tizzy about the poor men being falsely accused by anonymous women who want to damage their reputations. Ugh.

Yep. I work in STEM and have stopped having anything to do with “get girls into STEM” programs. It’s just an invitation to a lifetime of harassment, belittlement, and the odd grope, and why would I encourage them to think it’s great fun?

Yes. I have two friends who left STEM lab jobs after getting their masters because they couldn’t stand it. They scoff at all they get girls interested in STEM. They are like it’s not getting girls interested it’s getting them to stay because of the old boys club mentality. One of them went back for more school and is

We need a STEM list. I’ve making a list checking it twice. Underlining names and have some new references.

I tried real hard with snapchat and couldn’t get into it. I love instagram though. I have one and I have a public one for my dog (NO JUDGING). I like the stories feature on it.

I’m so sorry you had that happen. I am so so lucky that my boss actually listens when I have told him about my issues with contractors, but there is still almost no recourse against them.

Wouldn’t it be great if women could pretty much take down Facebook, Instagram and Twitter? It feels like the whole Silicon Valley geek culture seems to be infected with the hubris of misogynistic asshole men who don’t seem to care about women, or this country for that matter. Brava Riri, now take down Mark Zuckerberg

The thing is that it’s usually not so brazen as whipping it out. The rich and varied ways we get harassed is mind blowing.

Weirdly, the only workplace I didn’t witness or receive sexual harassment was one particular dive bar where I cocktailed. I’ve worked in a bunch of different industries, and it’s just unbelievably commonplace. Also, my both my undergrad and grad programs were filled with creepy and misogynist professors and admins.

The male architect “god complex” is real, and the women adjacent to it suffer the consequences.

The next day, Snapchat lost $1.3 billion in market value.

I’m with you, but the teens are crazy for it. I don’t even think they care about the “disappearing” aspect—they like the filters and stories and stuff.

Lawyers too. God help us, egotistical lawyers who think they are god, too, and have the best looking dicks ever, and are anxious to show off.

I was actually fired a few years back for complaining about the incredible harassment I was facing on a jobsite by some contractors hired by my firm. I live in a right-to-work state and the minute I went to HR I knew I was out of there. They were deemed ‘more necessary’ than myself, as finding competent installers is

This story is the human equivalent of the lion who ate the poacher, but left the head.

Agreed 100% then add to that the contractors and the engineers.....

You know, before #MeToo, I thought whipping one’s dick out in front of women absent a specific request to do so was something only creeps in trench coats did in public parks and on the subway. I thought it was, you know, somewhat rare. Now I find out, to my amazement, that it seems there isn’t a single profession

Every architecture firm I have worked at has been populated by hoardes of arrogant, sexist, and oft-times harassing men. I have sadly concluded that it is a part of this very ego-driven profession. The male architect “god complex” is real, and the women adjacent to it suffer the consequences.

The few times I’ve read gossip columns written by Cindy Adams, I feel like I’m reading texts from my mom.
