Y’know what, that’s fair. I forgot about F-Zero 99 when I mentioned it as a series that hasn’t gotten any love, though admittedly I was thinking more of major AAA releases versus the fun but somewhat secondary Switch Online games we’ve seen.

Come to think of it, didn’t Nintendo even talk about how they considered using Punch-Out when making ARMS? I thought I remembered reading that in some kind of interview.
Kinda weird to gloss over the Wii sequel which was pretty good, apparently sold well enough to be successful, and had optional motion controls like the sub-head asks (though by my memory the button controls were easier to use).
I was about to say “what, 2015 isn’t that long ago” and then realized it’s almost a decade. Ha ha ha ha I’m so old.
Okay, but like... the specific Batman (from I guess Earth 1? I haven’t played Suicide Squad) that a lot of people became attached to through the Arkham games is dead. Like, they can find as many good Batmen from the multiverse as they want but that Batman is dead.
God willing it’ll be both at the same time
I’m genuinely curious if this started as a smaller, digital-only game and then they expanded it out to a full, major release. Either way I'm pretty excited to play it.
There’s nothing more “I’m not mad” energy than replying a month and a half later to somebody joking on you
Because then I wouldn't get to engage with fine folks like you.
Unfortunately, Kamiya blocked IGN on Twitter immediately after finishing the interview.
I would not be shocked if they did a Spider-Verse game (since the Spider-Verse has weirdly become a core element of every iteration of the character over the last 10 years) but I could also see people using “Spider-Verse” internally to refer to their ongoing series of Spider-Man games just to be cute.
I mean, does it? Who cares which game sold more?
Unfortunately they seem to almost exclusively make Right Twix over there these days
Somebody should tell Twitter’s email team as well:
I literally started watching this show two nights ago and even I thought this was something about a new season in Halo Infinite when I first scrolled past it.
I recognize my comment is going to reference a game from over a decade ago so I want to apologize in advance for this being where my brain went, but: it’s still wild to me that Sony’s Smash Bros clone couldn’t get Solid Snake in it and yet he’s been in multiple Smash Bros games and now Fortnite.
For me it was playing Unreal Tournament on my cousin’s computer and playing as Bender wielding a lightsaber and fighting a buff Ash from Pokemon. I was not playing many PC games at the time and that really blew my mind.
Well their other big project (which was just shut down) was a GaaS multiplayer Last of Us game, so it's hard to say which feels more like a waste of time and talent.
Pretty sure they already released a PS5 upgrade as a patch
Those little 8bitdo controllers are pretty good. I’ve given them as stocking stuffers for exactly the use case listed here (ie. “easy to throw in your bag and use when you’re out and about) but they’re also good for little kids. It’s basically the perfect size for my 5-year-old when we’re playing something together.
