I wonder if they also remember that they used to know Spider-Man’s identity but they don’t anymore. (I think that was how it worked in one of the comic stories where his identity was magically made a secret again.)

I dunno I’m not a hardcore fan of the John Wick movies but they’re a goofy enough setting that I’d be curious about a TV spin-off... if it didn’t have Mel Gibson. I don’t have any interest in watching that dude act.
If she was always a skrull then it makes the revelation that a skrull was pretending to be her in No Way Home really silly. I mean, it’s not the most important revelation in the MCU but it would still be a weird thing to change.
This was so cute and nice.
Yeah, likewise I never played it nor have I really watched any gameplay or anything so all I know is what I read on Wookiepedia.
Huh, I... thought I had read her journals but I guess I’ll go take another look.
Sure, I gotcha. It just seems like such an obvious connection - to the point that literally from day 1 people had largely assumed it to be true - that they should have either made it more explicit whether it was intentional or not.
Good point. But also, if you remember from PlayStation All-Stars, we should never just refer to a singular “Cole McGrath” because he’s so deep and well-written that we need to refer to “Good Cole McGrath” or “Evil Cole McGrath” lest people incorrectly oversimplify him and miss out on all the great character depth…
I mean that was kinda my assumption as well but it’s never made explicit. And as Learn2Fly mentions down below, the energy blowing outwards from the imprisoning chamber is Gloom, not Malice. I mean they’re basically the same thing but for some reason Nintendo wanted a different dangerous goop in this game than the…
Right, I think it’s easy to come up with a way to handwave it away, which makes it even stranger that Nintendo just chose not to address it at all.
SPOILERZZZ
Cool yeah I heard that Kass was referenced and considering how important he was in Breath of the Wild I feel pretty confident he’ll return in the DLC. Other unexplained stuff like the absence of the Divine Beasts? Ehhhhh I’d like to think they’ll do something with them but I could also see Nintendo deciding they’re…
Yeah and it is just a story continuity complaint. It doesn’t really make a huge difference but it also feels like something they could’ve addressed pretty easily.
I really don’t think that’s true. Yes, the basic overworld map is based on the one from Breath of the Wild but the amount of work they had to do to support all the new features AND introduce the sky/depths AND create all the new shrines/temples makes it pretty clear that this couldn’t have been DLC. If anything the…
Ha ha ouch. Considering how well-received Kass was and how he was a focus of the Champion’s Ballad DLC in the last game, I feel pretty confident they’ll reintroduce him via one of the DLCs.
Ha ha yeah there we go. That works for me. I think there are plenty of reasonable explanations we could think up (his armor was damaged in the intervening years, he straight up lost it, he sold everything he owned to buy into a pyramid scheme, etc.) but it’d be nice if there was some kind of reference to it in the…
See I’d push back on the suggestion that this game has “more” story than Breath of the Wild. In fact, I’d argue that structurally it’s telling its story in very much the same way and winds up having just about the same amount of story. I guess one big difference is the different storylines in Tears of the Kingdom are…
See while I’d agree that I’m not enjoying the game as much as some folks have been (I certainly don’t think it’s the best Zelda ever, though then again, I didn’t think that about Breath of the Wild either) I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this game.
Yeah the thing that hurts the most about this is not the knowledge that they had made real progress on Titanfall 3 before cancelling it, but that they cancelled it and it was probably the right call. Oof, that’s tough to deal with.
Something that I was a little disappointed by with Tears of the Kingdom was that so many of the armor sets you’re collecting in this game are the same ones from Breath of the Wild.
