I’m not against “projects” and working to complete them, checking off the boxes as you go. But I believe the value of a project is defined by the value of its components. Climbing the Seven Summits, knocking off all the 14ers in Colorado, surfing in all four oceans; each of these is a project with boxes that we check,

Of course you’re right about 5-setters favoring the young and how that would produce both of our data. Smart. Hadn’t even considered that.

Ah, you’re right about the 2013 Open. My bad.

At the same time you posted your comment, I posted my own which shows that the number of major champions older than 28 is remarkably small, and the rate at which they win has actually been decreasing over time.

For some perspective:

Rafa’s done. It’s been five years since he won a major outside of Paris.

I thought he gave up long before that.

To claim that Djokovic is “hitting the prime of his career” seems silly since age 28 is when male tennis players tend to hit the wall, hard.

Clover,

Part of me thinks, “whatever floats your boat.” A bigger part of me thinks, “how dumb that this floats your boat.”

I was wrong. 6-1.

Nadal just lost a point to go down 2-0 in the 3rd and there was a lot of quit on his face.

I’d say “infinite years too early.”

Oh, it looks good on you, though!

That is a fucking great joke!

How the hell could he find their clitori?

Well, there’s an excellent point I overlooked! Thanks.

Whenever I’m in Houston, I think about trains. Or, really, any and all options to get me out of that sweltering, characterless, strip-mall.

I was on a work assignment that took me away from my then-girlfriend for three months.
