Easy. Don’t pay attention to studies like this. Literally everything causes cancer. Everything. Just don’t worry about it.

I am going to increase my meat and bacon intake because of this study.
So, eat a balanced diet, and don’t freak out. Sounds like a plan.
“Two slices of ham: 50g. Swap for chicken or tuna.”
I think the point being made is these people living as long as they do never come out as vegetarians or crazy health nuts.
Yea I was thinking the same thing. Adding 18% more when my chance is only .001% doesn't really bother me. I probably have a higher risk of getting lung cancer while making s'mores at the Cub Scout camp fire.
This is BS spread by vegetarians. Sure meat takes longer than veggies to break down in the stomach, but it doesnt “rot” . What doesn’t digest in time goes right out the pooper like everything else. If it just sat there and rotted anyone who loved meat would be dead within a week from intestinal blockage and infection.
What ever happened to correlation does not imply causation?
Genetics, all of this ignores that probably the #1 factor in cancer risk is completely out of your control. Period.
I’ll reduce my red/processed meat intake until such time as the scientific community completely reverse themselves on this finding in a few years. Like they have repeatedly on Coffee, Caffeine, Eggs, Wine, Beer, Salt/Sodium, Cholesterol, etc etc. Basically everything that people generally enjoy perhaps a little too…
If you think 32/32 is a problem, try 32W/34L
Ehh, just point at them and laugh every time there is another news article about vegetable borne e. coli poisoning.
It’s a genetic lottery— this is why so many age-100+ people go on in those interviews about how their secret to longevity is smoking nonfilters, or eating bacon every day, or living on red meat with butter sauce, or whatever, because they can do those things and not get cancer.
You’re comparing store bought/home cooked food to fast food. I could make 5 servings of burgers and various sides for the price of a big mac meal at McDonalds if I went out and bought the ingredients myself.
So I’m going to get cancer from meat thanks to cooking and/or preserving it. Cancer from my veggies thanks to pesticides and nuclear fallout. Diabetes from all this damn sugar used to wrap all my meat and veggies up in, and I’ll throw in a touch of mercury poisoning from fish. Damn, this whole living past 35 thing has…
people aren’t fat because of meat, jackass, it’s from the 2,000 calories of sugar we down every day.
Does no one raise an eyebrow that the UN wants everyone to shift to an insect protein diet, and then subsequently this report comes out?
scrapple is what the devil scrapes out of his jock strap at the end of a football game
I already had cancer, so, bring on Cancer bacon
If you live in a part of the world where your primary problem is that you have TOO much food to eat and need to restrain yourself from all of the choices, then don’t worry. You’re pretty much doing ok already ;)
