I do think Chibnall cared. I just think he’s the cautionary tale of the fanboy who got the dream job of running the show he loves and thinks he could make so much better and who then found out how hard it was and that no one actually likes his “brilliant” ideas for the show.

I mean, for much of Nintendo’s history, that’s kinda what they’ve done. The original Game Boy is one of the best examples of them using old, cheap internals for a variety of reasons. If it works, it works.

So most of the storylines weren’t great, but man I loved EVERYTHING about the Fugitive Doctor (Jo Martin) except that we didn't get to see more of her.  In that line of thinking, I believe we'd have to say this is the first main timeline Doctor who is Black, because Martin *ATE UP* her scenes & deserves more respect!

Agreed. At worst it was clumsily expressed, and he could have been a bit better in how he worded it, but I didn’t sense he was being a racist at that point. If anything I thought he was reaching out to other white people to explain something he was ashamed of and that other whites should be ashamed of.

Huh? Neeson didn’t make racist comments in 2019. He came clean in a story in 2019, about being a racist decades ago in the 70s. The alternative to telling the story is he could have just not.. and we never would have known. But he came clean about it and the growth he experienced in the decades after.
