Really? (looks back at pictures of the Veyron and Veyron Super Sport) Yes, you’re right. They deserve some credit for making significant changes to pretty much all the panels.  

That is a much better looking car than the Veyron minus the odd speed holes on the side that look out of place.

This. No one buys a Lexus because it’s better performance car than a BMW or Mercedes. They buy it because they don’t need to worry about there being some inexplicable gremlin in the engine control system that costs $6000 to fix.

As an RC-F owner, I can attest that while they do have some trade offs vs. the competition, there’s nothing quite like a Toyota super car. The extra .5 to 60 and few hundred pounds is worth never having had an unscheduled service visit. Ever.

These, as you allude, are extremely desirable used. They were praised by magazines as being better drivers cars than their contemporaries, even if they weren’t as powerful. I wouldn’t say it’s a forgotten car, I’d say it's a forgotten segment.
