I try to keep my cars for at minimum a decade but I will never go over a 5 year loan term because like you the thought of paying for something that long is too damn scary. I know people are short sighted. That’s why I doubted they did what I did and went to a fuel efficient sedan. Sure when I need to transport a bike or something big it’s a pain but I’m loving my average 38-40MPG as opposed to my old 19 MPG (if I was lucky!) SUV.
