I'm in an okay financial position right now, but I'm very aware that shit happens and I could find myself in a precarious spot. That's why I'm so irritated with myself for wasting money. I feel like I piss it away on useless crap instead of saving for the rainy day that's sure to come. I have a ton of clothes and

I think I just blew my mental budget looking at that peanut butter cup photo in this article. Mmm...

I have a betta on my desk and he seems to be doing quite well. I bought a Marina betta starter kit and then added a neat faux bamboo plant designed for the kit. All quite inexpensive and easy to take care of.

Go for walks outside, preferably with some nature involved.

Oh my...these sound like a delicious, delicious heart-attack.

is there a tofu version? :)

that's a great idea! my hubby has a small hole in the tip of the index finger of one of his gloves so he can work his iphone (wasn't on purpose, but turned out to be useful). I kinda like this better.

@englishman: eww, I cannot fathom licking my glove...it's the only thing standing between my skin and 5 billion public transit germs. Beyond that though, neat!

That's a neat idea. We don't have a whole lot of space to cover, so we just pour our non-slip ice stuff into an old orange juice jug with the top cut off (makes a handy pitcher); the mouth is wide enough that it spreads nicely when wobbled.

I do something similar, though with "pros and cons" lists. Inevitably, I notice myself trying to come up with more things to list on either the pros or the cons, so it helps me to know what I really want to do. Flipping a coin sounds much simpler though!

@Alejandro: it's easy to talk about staying where you're born when you live in a place with great weather! :)

@acroberts: You are so right about the ecological guilt. I was just thinking that this morning as I looked at a stack of half-used, beat up old spiral notebooks. Why am I still keeping them? Well they have some unused pages in them so it would be wasteful to throw them out! But as it stands, it's wasteful of my

I really love this. Wish I could set up my Mac and PC desktops with all that useful info right on it.

oooh, great tip. hubby enjoys eating hummus with rice cakes above his keyboard (and he has the exact same keyboard as you - I have to say, I can't type on that thing worth a damn!)

I love a good garage sale. Last weekend I went to a mega neighbourhood-wide sale in our city and scored a 4' tall wicker giraffe :D Wish I had a picture to post!

Love this site! Hubby and I eat out way too often after a forlorn look in the fridge. Sure, we have food, but unless we've organized it with a meal plan, it often just seems like random stuff and we don't know what to do with it.

I have so much trouble remembering to protect myself from the sun even though I'm pasty and freckled and burn really easily. Some sunscreen is really gross, which just deters me from wearing it (greasy, paint-like, smells awful, clogs pores, blech!). After my first burn of the season this year I splurged on some Aveda
