Very welcome! I’m fortunate to live, work and play in the DC metro area which is one of the most accepting and diverse parts of the country IMO. I dyed my beard rainbow today and went to work. It’s Pride weekend so why not? But for every one of us who has total comfort to paint their facial hair in six different

I’m working on getting Out Motorsports stickers made. Hopefully soon!

Go do it now, sis. You can autocross nearly anything and learn from it.

Sometimes, when a few people who are a part of [marginalized group typically not included in a thing] show others who are also a part of [group] that it’s 100% okay to be your full self while involved in [thing], you get a lot of participants coming out of the woodwork because they realize it’s not just a “good ol’

*waves* Hello!

Just had a friend go very far off into the woods at VIR this past weekend at a very high rate of speed. He walked away with no injuries, even though the car was totaled. His rollcage saved his life. Do NOT skimp on safety. Talk to people in your area about reputable cage builders. Make sure you have full 360° welds,

I was wondering why the rear hatch glass was split into two pieces, and then I see the spoiler that pops up. That cut line is bad (but not as offensive as the ND Miata’s hood).

I’ve run it in reverse a few times. Got all four wheels off the ground in a rental Jetta. 2/10 would not recommend.

Oh, lame. That’s the best part! Although they probably didn’t want a bunch of no-experience journalists hucking new Supras through there, it can be unnerving if you’re new to track days.

Hey, just an FYI, you didn’t drive “Summit Point” (referring to their main circuit). You drove Shenandoah, which is much smaller/tighter. Worth updating the article as only cracking 100 on Summit Main would make the car Miata-slow.

They were on Shenandoah, not SP Main.

Man, you’ve come a LONG way since standing in my parking lot in college, carefully removing the valve cover from your burgundy XJ.

Aw now you’re making me blush ;-)

I believe you’re thinking of the S54 engine, which came in the 2000-2006 M3. The E36 M3 had the S50 or S52. VANOS can “fail” but it’s not catastrophic.

Should have clarified, yeah. An 8.5" wheel is appropriate for a 245 street tire. Race tires (Hoosiers in particular) tend to “run wide” and many of us will run a 245 Hoosier R7 or BFG R1S on a 9-9.5" wheel.

Congrats! The E36 M3 is a terrifically reliable car, assuming you have a few pain points addressed.

Stop perpetuating the idea that non-colors are the best options for cars. There is no way Nardo Gray is the best color for an Audi, when Audi themself have released Nogaro Blue, Imola Yellow, Misano Red and so on.

CP. The wheels and grille are awful, for one, and make me question how much the vehicle was maintained or otherwise treated well. You see the same sort of thing on Expeditions and Yukon Denalis, people trying to be “badass” and kit them out a little bit.

I have a friend with one of these. They are, compared to most crossovers, pretty great to drive and the manual transmission doesn’t suck. The N52 engine is known for being reliable, and aside from the electric water pump being in a lousy location, easy to work on.

LOL. That wheel ended up two turns ahead of the car.
