If they ever ran those old episodes, they’d find out that the original cast had a lot of unfunny moments, too.

My problem with sending up the “I’m Just Ken” thing is that it seeks to tweak a performance that was essentially satire in its original form. I hate when a sketch parodies something that is a goof to begin with...it’s like doing a “spoof” of a Weird Al Yankovich song - very pointless and a little lazy.

Remember when Giuliani was...well, he was always an asshole, but remember when he wasn't literally a wizened, ichor-dripping hobgoblin?

I’m from north jersey, and have tons of friends from the city. I cash count the number of times Staten Island has come up in conversation as a joke in the post 25 years on one hand, with one finger.

Kieran Culkin was scheduled to be the host right before the writer’s strike happened. And for some reason, I held that against Pete Davidson all last night as I sludged through the episode.

Largely forgettable episode but the Kenan as Deion bit was fun, esp when he called back the “dad” joke from the Ebony Alerts. Che embarrassing Colin will always be funny.

The UK really seems to have been working overtime to gradually mainstream hardcore porn on television for at least a decade now.

How cold is the studio?

Meh. I’d do it.

I gotta share this story. Last night at work I witnessed overwhelming racism:

I was on lunch and it was shift change mid-blizzard (Ontario’s having some interesting weather rn). One of the two cashiers went on break. The only cashier on was a young Black girl. So this older female customer goes to her line and actually

There was one last week with Aubrey Plaza, ffs

“A rare mistake on the technical side?” SNL has been plagued with technical issues in recent years. Missed camera cues, sound issues, cue card mistakes. The camera coming into view was not the least bit surprising.

So, uh... what’s going on with Sam Smith? I thought he was the sad love song guy, and now he seems much more... messy.

I thought it was to make us forget that Sam Smith’s music is distilled dullness in a bottle (as nice a bland, milquetoast-y person as they seem), and they had to stage an elaborate distraction to keep us from dozing off.

Yeah, the technical issues used to be a sporadic at best problem-- which, I get it, accidents happen, especially on live TV. But the last few seasons they’ve been happening more and more. Maybe the director is losing his touch or something but it’s just cringe-worthy at this point.

B- to a solid B is fair grade. Aubrey Plaza did well as host. Some cue card reading (which is fairly common for a lot of hosts) but she brought a lot of good energy to everything she did. I liked her opening as well along with Amy Poehler’s appearances. Some solid sketches tonight too, the best being The Black Lotus

Bowen as George Santos was fun.

Blatent dog whistle bro

Yep. For example, the camera direction was off again when Mikey Day was left wondering what the hell to do when the camera should have been on someone else in the cold open. Been seeing a lot of that in recent weeks. There’s also something frequently going wrong with the sound; there are often parts that are

even in the 70s there were billions of people on the planet. you have no idea what did or didn't happen to most of them.
