Your comment assumes that Nu doesn’t meet said beauty standard, to which I must reply: eat shit. Unless you have polling data, you have no idea whether or not “most people” find her attractive.

“Religious freedom” has always only meant “religious freedom for white Evangelical Christians.” I recall a few years ago Louisiana was going to start a voucher program that could be used for private religious schools, but it ran into opposition when Republicans realized that those vouchers could also be used by

Satanists have been making the same argument, abortion is a religious right. I believe there’s currently a court case in Texas over it?

You’ve kinda blown my mind with this comment and now I don’t know what to think. My stance has always been “I love kids, but I’m not sure I want to own one” for many of the aforementioned reasons. I love the idea of having “a village” of support, but I’m scared I would be too tempted to push the kid on the nanny if I

My reservations about childhood are not recent, but they grow with every passing day as more headlines proliferate about Black women’s pregnancy complications and childbirth-related death rates. More importantly, as a survivor of trauma who constantly battles with fear and anxiety around bringing children into the

Very cool yes good idea to never say anything or try to improve situations or grow or evolve.

Wow, this is a super awesome piece of news for Navient to announce 3 weeks after selling my account to another company.

I hate mandatory minimums. I hate the cultural focus on prison as the only solution for crime and criminals.

There’s a lot of focus on the background check here, but that’s not really the problem, because background checks are just another extension of the carceral state that prevent reintegration and increase recidivism. The problem is that management was warned about his behavior and then did absolutely nothing.

What a fuck-up by the franchisee and McDonald’s. The attention is on the guy being a sex offender, but the real fuck-up here was that they basically ignored him being a massive creep even before the rape not just to his subordinates, but to underage subordinates at that - something you should not tolerate even with

Right, nobody is saying “OK, Boomer” to you because you were born in the 50’s, it’s a response to a willfully ignorant and often unsolicited advise from a time that no longer exists.

As my 15-year-old son says, “Baby Boomer’ is a generation; ‘Boomer’ is an attitude.”

Ok Boomer

Jesus some of the comments here have a whiff of misogyny. Why should she be humble about her intelligence?? Most men certainly aren’t.

That was needlessly bitchy comment.

That’s a point of view that varies across generations. For millennials, “You’re welcome” is the ruder response while “No problem” is the more polite one.

Sounds like you’re encouraging people to stop holding doors (or go out of their way at all) for other people. If someone says “thank you” & expects a very specific response, they’re not very thankful if they are at all.

It’s archaic, as is reaching across the table if you can comfortably do so (no bumping people or practically lying down on the table to do it). And if anyone ever poked me with a fork they get one warning. Then they get a fork in the hand that poked me.

correcting someone on that sounds like a wonderfully efficient way to let them know to avoid you

Say please.
