1st Gear: Really don’t understand the level of skepticism and cynicism noted this post, maybe I should know better by now. As someone who works in tech manufacturing, having Intel in your neighborhood is a very good thing. Not only will Intel offer well paying jobs but the sub-tier suppliers and ancillary functions

Excellent review, in a way very Top Gear-ish.

They can do that without the hard sell. Just offer the various trim & option packages in a straightforward way: Pro’s / Con’s / Cost. Let the car speak for itself.

Yup, that extra 2 seconds to snap in is a real pain in the ass I tell ya’

True, but honestly in a residential neighborhood like this how often would you use a turn signal for your own driveway?

Owners of Purdue Pharma, makers of Oxycodone

Unless you think the film Rubber was a documentary, I don’t think many people would have “wayward wheel on interstate highway” high up on their situational awareness checklist.

Agree. If there’s anything we’ve learned from David & his “projects” is that there is always something else lurking way worse than the obvious problem. ND.

Same.  I actually made this the other night and added nameko mushrooms...out of this world.

That’s a selfish vote, how does that help any of us?  As another poster stated, look at the big picture.  Rethink your stance for the sake of all.

Texture is fine, ease of bone removal is great, adaptability to a variety of cooking methods also very good, but damn I just cannot

Congrats $kaycog!  Well deserved.

Contrast that with Portland that just had its highest traffic fatality year since 1997 and 5 years since implementing “Vision Zero”, a task force setup to eliminate traffic related deaths by 2025.

Good luck to you Patrick, you will be missed around here.  You’re impact on this site and community is immeasurable.

Fairly recent red-eye flight on Delta from Chicago to Portland. Guy in the middle seat, late 20's in a cheap blazer, played with his balls for the first hour until he fell asleep, definitely not masturbation but more than just everyday course correction. As the flight neared PDX and PeeWee raises from his slumber and

So long, and thanks for all the fish.... It’s been a great ride with all of you, may we find another place as engaging, intelligent, irreverent, and amusing as our home here on Deadspin.

They were on to something at Camp North Star

Raconteurs. Just caught them this past weekend at Edgefield (outdoor venue outside of Portland) and it was one of the best concerts I’ve seen in quite a while. Their new album Help Us Stranger is really very good.

If you fly Alaska look for flights operated by their subsidiary Horizon.  First drink is free.

Agree. The risk of a cancellation with no alternate flight until the next day is why I no longer purchase red eye’s. Happened twice with the family, and it was miserable. Nothing worse than schlepping back home after spending 2-3 hours at the airport trying to get rebooked, picking up checked luggage, shuttle back to
