same. the beta was enjoyable. diablo has always had such shallow gameplay experience for me personally that i have a hard time swallowing that price point, and i already dont get games at launch due to back log and new release bugs. i prefer to let the day one FOMO try hards walk into that mess so i dont have to.

Most people aren’t buying into it, to judge from the likes.

That’s my plan, personally. I really enjoyed the Diablo 4 beta. I love ARPGs, particularly the Diablo series.

why the hell should I believe Diablo 4 will be able to stick to their claimed long term plans for post-launch support”

I’m sorry dude, you’re being a real shit.

Yeah that’s what strikes me as rather crummy. People would have judged OW2 a lot more harshly than they even did if they’d known the PvE stuff wasn’t coming. But this makes it clear Blizzard absolutely knew the PvE was out of the question some time before OW2 released, probably before they made the decision to make it

Except those are exactly what the words say. Look, I get what your saying. Quotes are left to interpretation sometimes. Things sometimes come out wrong than the way you mean to say them. Doesnt change the fact that if the majority of the people interpret it a certain way, they arent held accountable for how it comes

Exactly. I feel like making money was a huge reason it was canned. Some executive probably decided PvE wouldn’t get them enough revenue.

They canceled the PVE component of the game that was originally announced, and were still promising up till recently. That included co-op story campaign with hero progression. It was a whole package deal, and thats what I’m referring to.

if you TRULY have that concern with diablo 4, don’t buy it. any amount of debate or speculation is worthless.

It’s not new to sell stuff based on promises that you can’t keep, but it definitely is still newsworthy and all around worth being criticized.  F2P or not, a lot of fans paid into this game thinking that eventually they’d get everything that was promised.

Complacency, complacency all over this comment section. People are really buying into this corporate BS?! That’s why the only things functional and feature complete in any modern games are the cash shop/microtransactions.

So are you just saying that Aaron Keller, game director of Overwatch 2, was lying to GameSpot? Or that GameSpot made that entire interview up?

So...they didn’t decide late last year to shift efforts towards PvP and the story PvE missions and abandon the broader PvP plans like Aaron literally wrote?

Aww, I feel so bad for them. Guys, we can’t get mad at Acti-Blizzard, just look at how sad they are and how hard they tried to make it work. Really, we should believe them, they’ve told us nothing but the truth so far!

Yes it is, go back to the GameSpot interview.

They didn’t.

I mean...they knew PvE was cancelled by the time PvP launched, and likely earlier, and still teased it for months and months and months. Dishonest as fuck.

What I’m hearing is, “It turned out we were incapable of making a game, so we just reworked the monetization model and slapped a 2 on the title so we could pretend to be launching a new game for a publicity bump. We shall now return to crawling indefinitely.”

So the take away here is that Keller is hoping no one reads the interview he gave to GameSpot where he states they knew before Overwatch 2 launched the PvE mode that they were still promising... was never going to come out and they were already moving away from.
