You can do that. There’s a company called Celestis that buys secondary payload space on rockets, but you can only send like one gram of ashes because it’s very expensive. It’s like $5000 last I checked.

The Game Director tweeted this week that the playerbase was back up to the levels it was in January 2018 (two months after launch), which is impressive as hell. They’ve certainly put in the work to earn it back.

That’s fine, and definitely preferable to those other business models, but I’d rather play games on any other platform, so I’m not going to pay monthly for one thing I think just looks cute and fun. I choose to skip it entirely unless it becomes available to purchase a la carte.

That’s how the Force/Star Wars has always worked.

Ritz is too fragile. Gotta get some of those Town House half-pretzel crackers, or at least Club.

You’re really insistent that I’m “depriving” myself of something.

There are more things out there that I might enjoy than I could ever experience in a thousand lifetimes. It’s an easy choice to skip the ones that aren’t convenient. It looks like a cute phone game, not a life-changing experience.

Several. And yep, pretty much. I do find it far preferable to microtransactions, but I wish there were a way to just purchase the individual games I want to play. And yeah, I might enjoy it, but there are too many other great games I might enjoy that I don’t have to sign up to have my credit card charged every month

Because I want to just own it. If I want to go back to it someday, I don’t want to have to shell out another $5 and then remember to cancel when I’m done. Apple Arcade seems like a good value, but there isn’t a lot in the library that appeals to me. The few things that do aren’t compelling enough to make me sign up

I wish I could just buy this instead of having to subscribe to a service to play it. It looks cute.

You should just block it and watch the Tim Rogers videos on their YouTube channel.

The “good reason” is that they don’t get any money from your Steam purchases. Consoles don’t make much profit; the games and services you buy to use on them do.

I had the same thought, but now I’m wondering if they’ve only recently started taking them more seriously because of the Kyoto Animation arson/murders.

After getting a damaged disc and having a terrible customer service experience, I’ll gladly pay the extra $3 to not have to put up with that again. Plus I don’t have to return anything.

Exactly. I haven’t seen anyone say “X is better on the Switch”. Most of what I’ve seen is “X’s graphics and performance take a big hit on the Switch, but it’s worth it to be able to play X while commuting/lying in bed/pooping”

Same. I can’t even remember the last time I bought a used game, but I also don’t remember the last time I paid full price for a new game. I do enjoy the convenience of digital games, but I enjoy saving money and knowing I have uninterrupted access to my property more.

Also means they have more control over the price of new games, since they don’t have to worry about retailers needing to move stock.

Yeah, I really hope they add some more Starfighter Assault maps in January or February. IX looks like it’s bringing more diversity to the Resistance and First Order starfighter corps, as well as giving us at least one more big space battle.

Well yeah. Gotta keep Boggy warm.

They don’t; it’s purely cosmetic. You can mix and match many different styles of five different parts of the lightsaber. But there are things on the skill tree that make your lightsaber attacks do more damage and give you new attacks.
