I think that’s a big part of it. The thing you spent hours and hours to earn isn’t special when someone can pay $10 and get it instantly. At least in this instant it’s just skins.

I fundamentally despise microstransactions, but if they must put them in, them this is the least harmful way. Cosmetic items that don’t affect gameplay or give you an advantage that you can purchase outright, not have to gamble for.
