I think it's established in both the novel and movie (more subtle in the film), that Amy's life shows a progression toward break with reality as result of being trapped by the 'Amazing Amy' franchise that steals her identity and she has resented for all her life.

I take the finale title to mean Kevin begins his return from being an atheist back to accept some sort of supernatural / spirituality that guides him toward good; and a purpose that leads others toward that end. For me that return begins when he finally accepts help and reads Job.

While she is sleeping Sophie hogs the comforter and while she is awake she's willing to offer his favorite bacon. - that should say something about which one he ended up with. But My take is the theme trumps plot here, so I like the 'marriage can work' theme. In all fairness, I think they deliberately reveal

In the climactic escape sequence I tried tracking the two Sophies to see if they pulled a shell game on the viewer. It's edited deliberately to confuse your mind.
