I think the BMW analogy is spot on. This isn't an RCT, and there are tons of factors that can't be measured. It totally sucks that a bunch of people with BA's are underemployed. But, here's what some of these statistics don't capture. A college degree is still an entry ticket. Just because you're working in a

So it's live now! My brother is a freelance writer, and he worked on this for about a year writing some of the copy for the different plot summaries. My favorite thing ever was describing what my brother did - oh yeah, he writes for the male version of Mr. Skin. It was hysterical to talk to him as he came up with

So, he is being recorded talking a friend about how blindsided he was that another associate recorded him?

We lived on a farm growing up. My mom found my brother's handle of vodka under our porch. She asked me if it was mine (I was older than 21), and I was like, umm, no, why would I put it under the porch? She said my brother told her the neighbors must have put it there. (We lived like a mile away from neighbors).

In 6th grade my Social Studies teacher told me that Russia was a communist country (this was in 1997). I corrected her; she told me I was wrong.

For the millionth time, can we please, please get a scientific researcher here? The whole concept of scientific research is that they followed a sound, methodological process. Yes, there are outliers. But saying something isn't true because it doesn't apply to you is the opposite of how science works!

Like others, the best senior prank was not my year (it never is, is it?). Our school had a tech team of students who would help teachers with technology issues. One of the guys told emailed all of the teachers a "system update". All teachers installed it on their computers, and it was a program that replaced common

During high school and college I worked at a concert venue in the "VIP" section. These were the box seats for season ticket holders (or friends of friends of friends of season ticket holders). Our backs were typically to the stage, and I'd be staring directly at the box seats.

Yes, but I am terrified that I will send a draft to someone that says: Scholars maintain that young adults [CITE SOME FUCKING SOURCES]. So now I omit the cussing from my notes to myself.

I know someone who paid for their wedding via student loans. Because nothing says I love you than irrevocable loan debt.

I think I could get behind that. I work in a female dominated area of academia, and at one retreat we had this AWFUL motivational speaker. Keep in mind that most of my colleagues are doctorate holding researchers. All she did was talk about the "queen bee" dynamic and spouted horribly sexist anecdotes about your

Oh I totally agree. You could be 65, be a CEO of a company you love and find out you hate being a CEO. But, the one girl is a motivational speaker now, counseling girls on how to find their true calling. Umm.. they can't ALL follow her tracks and become motivational speakers! Though, to me, that is a dream job.

This article really annoyed me. As someone who currently hates her job, this was blowing up my LinkedIn feed, so I read it. Everyone profiled was under the age of 30, having landed their "dream job" at like 22. That's not your dream job. That's an entry level job in your field of choice. (Though the Pentagon job

Who the hell has a pet duck?

ETA - For $70 not $700 - wow, that sounds crazy. :)

Never heard that red is unacceptable. I highly recommend Rent the Runway if you can't afford to splurge on a new dress. I just had to go to a black tie wedding, and there was no way I was buying a floor length dress I'd never wear again. For $700 I got to rent an awesome designer dress that I loved.
