There are many, many reasons to criticize Trump, and I’ve criticized him for policy positions, dog whistling, blatantly racist statements, an inability to follow and control his own thoughts, etc.

Actually, I don’t particularly like the ADL, for a few reasons. For one, I feel they have been far too quick to label certain incidents “anti-Semitic” without proof. The latest Trump campaign ad is one glaring example. So, I respect some of what they do, and dislike other things they do.

I think you make a reasonable point. Anti-Semitism is still pretty much relegated to the extremes and not acceptable in most of society, whereas anti-Muslim bigotry has likely become acceptable among even the center right.

Many people allege that the ADL, Black Lives Matter, La Raza, the Council on American Islamic Relations, and the National Organization for Women are organizations that “cry wolf.” This may be true to some extent, as organizations are only as good as the individuals that run them.

According the the FBI and the SPLC, that’s not the case, although hate crimes against all groups are obviously horrible.

It’s a Jewish founded and run organization, but not a specifically Jewish organization, by any stretch.

As does the Southern Poverty Law Center, another Jewish run organization.

Many in the ADL actually lean left on Israel. Meaning, they cannot stand the Netanyahu government but are powerless to change it, so they do whatever they can by calling out policies they disagree with in Israel whenever they can.
