I’m practicing this now, and I think I’m doing it wrong. I look like one of the “ugly” Snapchat filters.

For some of us, it’s not that we embrace the term “Latin@”, but it’s imposed upon us. People can’t help but want to put me in a box despite my German last name, because I have more melanin than they do.

Word. I’m Mexican and have family members with French, Greek, Chinese, and German last names. They don’t label themselves as anything but Mexican because Mexico DGAF (the only exception being indigenous peoples, for political and sometimes social/racist reasons).
