‘Unsafe at Any Speed’ is a great read for all car fans. The Corvair portion was only a chapter. The main point of the book is always misconstrued as an anti-Corvair piece. It was actually an eye opening look at the way car safety was handled back then. It’s almost comical to read what was allowed and how manufacturers

Repeal of the gas tax will push the road user mileage tax into life. No such thing as a free ride.

It’s ok, she didn’t hear you. Or see your post. Too soon?

International Harvester Scouts came from the factory with rust.

AASHTO has a huge manual that designers all use for roadway designs. Ironically, a design 70 mph roadway isn’t much different than a 90 mph design. The lower speeds differentiate more dramatically for each design speed. There are countless occasions that the posted limits do not correlate with the original design

Speed limits usually correlate with design parameters for the roadway. While most interstate highways are designed for 75-85 MPH, the signage can be lower. But in more urban settings, the lower speed limits are posted as the highway design may only work for speeds close to the limit. Sight distances, on/off ramps,

Add in Kia’s flashing brake light...

NJ has a 5 year no inspection required rule for new cars. It’s a good rule. After that, just emissions every other year. One of few good things this state has done in recent years.

Never thought I’d see the day that you can’t buy a new Ford car in production if you wanted to.

That’s Brad Wesley’s town and don’t you forget about it. He brought the mall here. He got the 7-Eleven. He got the Fotomat here. Christ, JC Penney is coming here because of him. You ask anybody, they’ll tell you.

Obviously an aerodynamic/ airflow thing. But I’d like to hear what they actually do.

The side reverse lights would be great on any car. Especially when backing out of a spot in a busy parking lot. This way other vehicles would see that you’re reversing.

There aren’t any Broncos available. Even ordering one is a months long process. Only ones on lots are bait Broncos to get you at the dealership to either pay $70k for one they have or order one.

I’ve seen these on YouTube. But the driver gets out after a fender bender and starts karate kicking the other driver.

I witnessed a F150 hitting a crash cushion (impact attenuator) at full highway speed. It’s quite an impact and a sound that I’ll never forget. The sand barrels that he hit are great and possibly saved his life.

Got to show off their killer hair!

Guilty. Owning an old Jeep and keeping it on the road is like speaking another language and being able to go to another country without hesitation. Old Jeep that’s dead... only to you!

Maybe they did, told them what the fees were including the airport taxes... and the owner decided to not come back for it. These lots aren’t that cheap. Two years of charges is quite a sum.
