A little history of Dan Harmon - If there is a bridge, he will BUUUUURRRRN it.

Part of the genius of Mad Men was that it initially depicted Don’s womanizing as something glamorous and enviable, then over time began to depict that behavior as isolating and pathetic. You initially see Don as the ultimate capitalistic/patriarchal power fantasy, but over time come to see him as a desperate, hollow

I hope the show addresses this with an episode where Rick meets the insufferable members of his interdimensional fan club, and immediately proceeds to exploit and discard them, as is his wont.

Despite loving the show, I avoid Rick and Morty fandom like the plague. But anecdotally speaking the thing I’ve noticed about people who idolize and defend Walter White and Tony Soprano is that so much of their admiration for those characters has to do very specifically with how they treat women—how certain they are

This is a little out there, but Rick and Morty fans remind me of the early rise of “internet atheism” which isn’t really a belief in atheism but more so an attempt to cling to something that makes themselves feel smart.

I’m reaching, sure, but so are R&M fans.

I loved Cheryl referring to it as her “iconic” spider brooch. Egotistical, but accurate.

Lili Reinhart as Betty has been pitch-perfect. The actress who really impressed me increasingly as the season went on was Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl. She started off seeming like this weirdly inappropriate mean girl, but then you started to see the chinks in her armor and the hurt little girl underneath, so I sort of

Kroll Show, Review, K&P, and Midnight are all gone, but at least Broad City and Nathan are still around to keep the best lineup in Comedy Central’s history alive for another season.

And don’t take a detour through the local zoo.

Hated Pickle Rick but loved rest and Ricklaxation, so it’s a wash for me there

James Joyce was a hack!

the writers are failing him - it’s not for a lack of talent.

KJ Apa is not the most obviously outstandingly talented member of the Riverdale cast, but he grew on me. He is committed—in the scene where he repeatedly punches the frozen lake to try to rescue Cheryl he actually broke his hand.

Just because I want Archie to stop singing doesn’t mean I want Archie injured. Stay safe, kids.

R&M have achieved a whole new level of awesome this season. I recently re-binged the entire series last weekend and the only loser of the bunch, IMO, is the Mr. Meseeks episode, mainly because the sound of his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Rick and Morty does that interesting thing that dime novels and gangster movies used to do - it condemns its mostly reprehensible central character all the time, but also allows viewers to revel in and tacitly celebrate their transgressive, anti-social qualities. (Lots of pop culture does it, then and now). But

And the only thing I can say is if you’re lucky enough to make a show that is really good that people like, that means some bad people are going to like it too.

Vernon defacing his passed-out wife with ‘Bad Mom’ and a penis is one of those dysfunctional acts that, as an unmarried man, I want so bad to assume is actually a sign of a healthy marriage (their relationship seems somewhat honest to me, as in, the resentment is in the open).

Did anyone else almost tear up when Jimmy opened his book and saw the dedication to Gretchen? “To Gretchen, thanks for being alone with me.” Just me? Okay.
