Why not? It allows the community to direct where the game goes. Notch should pay the people for the mods, but that just gives skilled people in the community incentive to work on it more.

This is what is killing sci-fi shows. The techie crowd are heavily using non standard methods of watching shows, that do not show up on neilson, giving false readings that no one is watching it.

Heck no. If they are going to charge people $60 for a game, they are making it too expensive for many people to actually purchase the game new. I have maybe 8 games for my PS3, half of them are from the bargan bin, maybe 3 were bought new. Games should be about the price of a Blu ray movie.
