I have been traveling more lately, and I’ve struck up more conversations about F1 in the last 6 months with strangers than I have in the entire 10ish years of being a fan.

Yea it was like, “the cars are pretty cool and they go vroom vroom” “tire pressure? Idk Wuts that?”

Even their Call of Duty gun analogy was bad. The guns DO fire differently. An m16 fires differently than an Ak47, and so on.

Ugh. What he means is that each car handles differently from every other one, based on their unique real life engineering. Something that requires acually knowing about the cars. Fwd vs rwd or awd, stuff like that.

Im kind of confused. Are you saying that the porches won't drive differently than in say FH4? Otherwise of course the cars drive differently. They always improve physics from game to game as well.

Seriously that’s a cringe paragraph. I don’t think it was a joke? The bit about tearing up the country too... Though Tim Rodgers video review of 4 is still a favorite of mine.

this is a point to the individual differences in the cars themselves. despite being an arcade racer and not a sim (like motorsport) Turn 10 does a pretty good job at making everything feel fairly different.

Counterpoint: MW2019 weapon models, sound, animations, and general “feel” compared to the same in Cold War.

Horizon has never been sim or anything like that but It is kind of baffling that they got someone who admits half way through the review that they don’t understand anything about the technical/physics side of the game, to review the game. It really kind of locks you in to a pretty superficial review. Which is what

Agreed. I’m glad there are thousands of outfits to customize your avatar that you see 5% of the time. But in a racing game review, I’m much more interested in the CAR customization that got no mention. Lol

Big difference is that other sports don’t require a team of dozens of highly skilled professionals to support each player. Yeah, a pro golfer may have a coach and a physical therapist and such, but they don’t have a team of dozens of engineers devoted to improving their one-off golf club costing millions a piece.

Is she a family-friendly gamer? Why would she be losing opportunities based off of a perceived affiliation with a massively popular show?

I thought the problem was that because of the lack of gold sources compared the to gold sinks, no one wanted to trade gold for resources because they needed their gold for other things? So, how do you sell resources for gold if no one’s buying with gold? Or maybe you were on a server where few players had the kinds of

“But” isn’t really the right conjunction in this sentence, since TikTok is a Gen Z thing.

They are getting banned you fucking mutt. Ironic you mention race considering the guy who got arrested for starting it was BLACK!!

I think it’s incredibly brave of him to come out and admit he watches NASCAR.

Why? Why would anyone want to play a ridiculously downgraded version of the game? It’s pointless.

When I was younger, I used to really like the idea of fan remakes; even worked on a couple of my own and thought about working with people on larger projects. But now I just... can’t imagine it.

Like yes, sure, you’re a fan of the thing and you want more of the thing. But this is so much work that you are unable to

The thing is that it should be obvious why someone’s *friends* are similar and share similar interests.

What even is this article. I work at a AAA studio, fewer than 1 in 10 CVs we get are from women. Not everything is caused by the patriarchy ffs

Starting a new studio is a big leap of faith and takes courage, unlike writing this piece. Great job sticking it to the man. Or, you know, a startup with fewer than 10
