HB 2120 . . . would prohibit “courses, classes, events and activities” in public schools that promote “social justice toward a race, gender, religion, political affiliation, social class or other class of people.”

Hey, if that’s your story, that’s fine by me....

In 2 years’ time (when the next Prez campaign starts) both daughters will be away at college/graduate school, empty nest syndrome will be setting in and she’ll have had time to recuperate from 8 years in the fishbowl. Favorable polls will be taken and Dems of many kinds will be urging her to run. The pull will be

Hey look! Another person who thinks it’s OK for white people to casually dismiss the entirely appropriate feelings of POC.

The only way to make a good bio-pic is to focus on one seminal moment in the person’s life when they’re tested (the Obamas first date doesn’t qualify) and use their reaction to that moment to flesh out the salient features of their character.

MLK Jr. would have wanted little to do with the strain of hopeless terror, depression and anxiety that seems to have infected some people since the election.

Our history is filled with revolutionaries they have made into respectables.

I know Barack said she wouldn’t, but I think she will. Right now, I can’t think of a Dem who has a better chance of winning.

This is Trump trying to deflect criticism of his treatment of John Lewis and MLK3 playing into his hands. Sad!

This is another important point. In addition to normalizing him, dealing with Trump runs the risk of getting screwed in the process. So you make a deal, he gets legitimized and you don’t even get what you bargained for.

I’d go easy on Pissgate. If the video turns up, run with it. Until then, let it go. For now, it’s unsubstantiated and suspect. Continuing to harp on something that’s so salacious and so unproven is likely to produce sympathy for Trump and suspicion of his critics.

people are going to have to talk with him . . . certainly one of the avenues that can be explored is sitting with the president-elect and discussing initiatives.

MLK is like the Bible. Every generation finds in him what they seek. That’s why, even more than Lincoln, he truly “belongs to the ages.”

On the topic of celebrity reactions to Trump, can someone please explain to me why Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman and Mark Wahlberg aren’t being roasted over the coals for their less-than-derogatory remarks about Trump?

That may very well be the reasoning behind investors’ moves lately. I seriously doubt the investment community has bought into Trump’s con. Unfortunately, Trump probably will get the credit for anything good that happens on his watch, even if it happens in spite of him, rather than because of him.

What about the economy and the markets?

That’s why I gave Booker the second spot on the ticket.

This is the second time today I’ve had to ask myself: “Is Trump already Prez?” Now I also have to ask: “Is Sessions already AG?” Cuz I couldn’t sworn today is January 13.

I can already hear the Trumpists claiming that, by denying his legitimacy, Lewis is doing to Trump what Trump did to Obama. Damn right. The only difference is Lewis has a leg to stand on.

That’s a good way of putting it. For me, if I have to take horrible medicine I’d rather have it with a spoonful of sugar.
