DIY/replace always! Professional labor is way too expensive and the most you can hope for is that it is barely adequate. Unfortunately some things like surgery are currently impractical for the DIYer mainly due to government meddling.
@John Steele: The possibility of a 3% gain is hardly worth taking on guaranteed investment and interest expenses as well as risking principal. In fact it isn't even 3% since you can use the money you'd be contributing to the bank's profit to bankroll your poker games.
There need to be fines for double-billing, since it is completely preventable, and the only reason it occurs is because companies hope to get away with it.

It's ridiculous that cars don't have panoramic cameras by now. A computer should also process the data to show you a birds-eye view of the nearest vehicles through a head-up display.
