I was very much impressed by the quality and diversity of speakers at a number of events. So much thought went into this, to make everyone’s voices heard.

Just chiming in with my support. I wasn’t able to march myself but I am so so proud of the solidarity women showed today, all over the world.
I’m so proud of everyone who went to the Marches! It was a great example of grassroots organizing. I know there were some rough spots in the planning, but I love how everyone worked through them and put in a lot of effort to make sure they were inter-sectional, inclusive events.
Guys, I’m so proud of everyone who marched today. Please share any thoughts, photos, or experiences so I can fully express my gratitude.
Abortion is not unfortunate or distasteful. It’s a medical procedure, full stop. Please stop using moralizing language when talking about abortion, you’re conceding ground to people like this without even trying. Some women find their abortions tragic. Some women find them sad but necessary. Some women feel nothing at…
I *think* what people mean when they say “no one wants an abortion” is “no one aspires to have an abortion”. It’s not something you hope to get to have one day in the way you hope to have a car or have a house or have an education. Yes, I want it if I need it; but no one hopes they need it. I mean, I can’t imagine…
That’s not what I meant. You didn’t get pregnant just to have an abortion, right? Their whole platform is that of making it like a sport. Like, killing unborn babies is something that is done purposefully for fun, like hunting. I am glad you were able to have the choice and that you feel comfortable saying you wanted…
The first question to ask any of these people is “how do you feel about comprehensive sex education in public schools and the passing out of free condoms?”.
No one wants to have an abortion unless you’re some dipshit wannabe comedian. There is so much ignorance that it is almost painful to listen to the anti-abortion crowd. First off, no federal money goes to Planned Parenthood for abortions... none. 3% of Planned Parenthood’s total services are allocated for abortions…

It is frustrating that anti-choice peeps think we are all coming from the same place, that we just think it is okay to “kill unborn babies.”
A lot of these chuckle heads think the birth control pill is an abortifacient Hell, some are so for the unborn they are against vasectomies.
Exactly! I’m pro choice, but for me I don’t know if I would ever have an abortion. I don’t know if I would be comfortable with it. But I have never been in that situation so I don’t think its possible to really know how I would feel. But regardless I sure as hell don’t judge another woman’s choice.
You can make an even more conservative argument. The Constitution and Bill of Rights were specifically written to limit the power of Government over the individual. Laws that restrict abortion, are basically laws that violate this bedrock principle of America, as it cedes power over an individual’s body to the…
So why don’t they start with the rights of the post-born (i.e. people). Maybe anti-choice people should get to work fixing their own lives before trying to take away choices for other people.
I’ve been arguing with someone over at Kotaku, who says you can be both pro-life and pro-woman. But I try to point out (unsuccessfully it seems), that while you can be personally against abortion, as soon as you want to take away a woman’s right to have one, then you are not “pro-woman”.
Yeah, the right wing has been co-opting and using the anti-oppression language of the left for a while now.
My argument has always been that pro-life is your choice. The choice of others is none of your damn business. If you want the right to choose life, you have to be prepared to let others make their own choice.
“We’re feminists, just ones that don’t agree with feminism.”
This “preborn women’s rights” line is the newest argument the anti-abortion crowd is pulling out of their asses. I just had a guy try and pull it on me this morning. This along with the “okay, we’re gonna be feminists now, only pro-life ones” (oxymoron much?), is obviously the latest strategy coming down from the…
