100% this. My recumbent exercise bike sits in front of a TV, and the audio goes to a pair of Bluetooth earbuds. I set the resistance to gradually increase and put on a movie or TV show, so by the time I’m having to actually put forth any effort, I’m so engrossed in the TV that I barely notice my bpm increasing.

I know pumpkin pie is the traditional Thanksgiving dessert, and I don’t mind it at all. But I refuse to allow a Thanksgiving dinner to proceed without the presense of pecan pie. I almost always make my own, just for safety’s sake (and because my recipe has bourbon in it).

Event Horizon

I know it’s a long shot, but I’m still holding out hope that he gets to make his animated adaptation of Eric Powell’s “The Goon” comic series with Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti voicing the main characters. The teaser they made a few years ago got the tone 100% right.

Saying that the first season of The Terror was “improved upon” by the second season is outright blasphemy. Season one played as a nearly perfect miniseries. Season two had some good ideas and an intriguing setting but never figured out how to make any of its elements work together.

Meanwhile Colin Hanks continues to be an underappreciated, solidly reliable character actor.

As a midwesterner, I had no idea that this was not common knowledge.

Iowa’s butter cow is bigger and older (600 lbs. and dating to 1911), but it requires going to, y’know, the Iowa State Fair. I live in the same city, and I don’t even go.

That movie was...fine. Jennifer Garner’s accent is...a choice. As an Iowan, we don’t sound like that, Minnesotans do. We have a General American English accent, which is a polite way of saying that we sound like boring accountants.
