So, I actually work in TV production (well...not now because of obvious reasons, but just to give some insight here). The fact that a big production like “Ellen” is using non-union crew is a pretty big deal. That’s usually reserved for indie films or *maybe* some super small TV show.

What was “woke” about TLJ? The only thing “political” in that movie I can remember was that bit about war profiteering.

Yeah, being even slightly challenged makes me mad too. Why can’t stories just have zero complexity like the Real fans want?

It is a bummer that the cast had to be buffeted around by such stupefying circumstances. Even when I was disappointed by how much TFA was a retread of ANH, the new generation of characters were so good, I remained enthusiastic for the rest of the trilogy. For myself, TLJ actually took advantage of that cast and did

If he felt like SNL treated him like “a dumb idiot”, then he should’ve doubled down on mocking Dan Crenshaw instead of apologizing to him.

No amount of footage, clips or interviews can convince me this is an actual show and not some 30 Rock joke come to life.

JJ set up mysteries with no answers. It would be different if he gave RJ the answers and he didn’t use them. But that’s not what happened.

And considering her response seems to be to not even directly address the allegations but to instead just list off her feminist bona fides is pretty gross. It felt a bit like when a man is accused of misconduct and he claims that having a wife and/or daughters somehow means he COULDN’T have done what he was accused

I hate that “I’m a feminist” cop out. This isn’t about feminism, or women’s rights, this is about how Treem has treated those in a subordinate position to herself. And she failed miserably.

I feel like one of the few people who viewed Luke’s evolution as both logical and satisfying. The idea that his view and understanding of the Force would be unchanged after years of studying it and the Jedi’s origins in isolation is almost childish.  He still becomes one with the Force in the same way Obi Wan did,

Grow up.

And then you have the balls to dismiss my previous comment? What exactly is your problem?

This is a coherent take, especially in response to a write up that does nothing but laud him. Projecting much with the always mediocre bit?

The blurb up top makes it clear what happened. “The AV Club” is a collection of individuals. Some of them thought the film was pretty good, but enough of them really hated it that it made the list. And now the comment section is going to be dominated by 20-something white guys crying about it.

I kind of enjoyed Joker, but it’s the worst kind of movie. Which is to say, it’s a film that purports to be about serious things, but doesn’t have anything to say beyond how terrible the way it is, because it can’t commit to anything. The best you can say about it is that it’s an examination of how white male

Maybe you’re the one who should fuck off. Or at the very least, shut up, go see the movie and let it speak for itself and quit worrying about some stupid word you don’t like, you fucking baby.

Perhaps Dowd is actively discouraging you from seeing the movie.  Would it help to throw in the phrase “wacky hijinks”?

Are you still going on about that episode of “The Bachelorette?”

I guess they assumed that, like with the X-Files, when the Simpsons was originally filmed Matt Groening had thought ahead and shot for 16x9 anticipating widescreen, but then they started remastering the early seasons and realized it was a cartoon.

Not a show I can really defend or recommend but I enjoy it a lot.
