That first trailer looked like a Fox news wet dream. I don’t know how they thought portraying the pretty blond girl as the innocent victim when forced to deal with holier than though minorities. Like sure anyone can be an asshole or a bully, but c’mon.

The movie did not side with the blonde bitches and their rich, negligent parents. That was the whole point of the movie. Trying to flip the identities in this show was ill advised at best, and purposefully insulting at worst. This show should never have been produced. Heathers is a film that should never be rebooted

I struggle to believe that this is the real reason for the delay. Every trailer and teaser released has elicited bad publicity. If Paramount really cared about politics, then they would have never rebooted Heathers with the idea that LGBTQ students and POC are the real enemies now. IF they cared about what students go

What’s wrong with being foreign?

I’m not sure this is the right movie for this rant.

you sound like a fun person.

The fact that we’re applauding teenagers for asking hard questions goes to show that the adult journalists have not been asking hard questions for years.

That was a smart change.

Black Panther and Wakanda is what it is - A character and setting that are black and in Africa created by a white man that never was in Africa.

A year full of empathetic, loving, creative films, and the one taking the major awards is the one making cruel jokes about black people, gay people, dwarfs and women.

That’s fine. Likable but cowardly films are often recognized over exciting or not-immediately-accessible films.

Sounds close to my experience. My best friend and I had to choose between Super Mario Bros or Jurassic Park. We chose...poorly.

Can a truly egalitarian society exist within a monarchy?

Is this a bit

The problem is that the movie treats a big topic as racism amongst law enforcement only as a means for the white protagonist to justify her actions while treating the black characters as props or passive observers while also going out of its way to say racists have feelings too.

I for one would far rather have one stunningly beautiful Aardman-style claymation movie per year than any number of hand-drawn or computer-animated ones (yes, including Pixar).

In Bruges is still his best. I think both this film and Seven Psychopaths are instances of McDonagh biting off a bit more than he can chew, thematically. While Seven Psychopaths has a lot of unfocused things to say about narrative, Three Billboards has a lot of unfocused things to say about righteous anger and moral

I agree, Kinja is simply the best means of hiding comments!

Foreign funding.

Those Beatles anecdotes are utterly full of shit.

Ringo might not be the most exciting drummer ever, but he had an impeccable sense of rhythm and timing, and I remember reading about someone going back and listening to all of the raw Beatles recordings (not the albums but the original tapes with the bad takes and all)
