Interesting Idea, for certain. My issue with this though is that then the shoes are never quite tight enough. For example, you couldn't do this with running shoes in good conscience - but I HATE having to stop and relace them (constantly coming untied!!!)

@RandomAcronym: Each browser has its quirks. For me, I've found Chrome seems to be faster, even with the higher mem usage. It doesn't have all the addons I'm used to though. :(
