yes, sorry. My assumption was that you wouldn't need to worry about moisture if running the AC all the time. I don't use AC unless it's unbearably hot or humid. so I didn't even think to mention it. I live in MN where basement moisture can be an issue.

We put this fan in our basement bathroom. When the HVAC guy put it in he said it pulls so much air and is efficient enough that you could actually run it for the purpose of reducing basement moisture issues.

I suspect (educated guess) the color of their shell is a result of the minerals or other chemicals used to "build" it; their flesh may still be white but the picture only shows shell, no flesh.
