Hawley’s super talented so this is exciting news. But I REALLY want to see the Doctor Doom movie script he wrote get made. Or at least read it!

I always liked this panel from that issue...

I agree, but if cigarettes never existed that means the history of the USA is possibly very differrent. Without tobacco is there still a Civil War? I don’t know, but it was an odd choice for the script (the Harry Potter joke at the end worked a lot better.)

Roll your eyes. And then listen to Obama as he knows how to win elections.

9% Republicans voted for Obama in 2008. Had those voters been there for Hillary in 2016 she’d have won. It’s going to be an incredibly close election and we need their votes. Warren could certainly get them by not appearing as far left, and she’s thankfully decided to pivot on Medicare For All to get there. She’d be a

Medicare For All starting with a public option, as it was mostly assumed would be the path until recently, would not be far left. A majority of people like the idea of being able to buy into Medicare if they want to, or staying with ther employer based or private health care. Lots of unions, the heart of the

Or it’s possible Obama knows firsthand that the majority of the country is moderate? A majority of the Democratic party even. So he thinks that getting the votes of a) moderate Democrats, b) independents, and c) Trump voters who voted for him in 2012 (about 13% of Trump voters) will take a more moderate candidate than

Glad he got a kick out of it, but the movie is a mess!  Fun premise, poorly executed, with little of it ringing true. I did like the Oasis joke, even if it’s a little easy.

Bring back the droid! He was my favorite part of the first episode. And unlike the protagonist, actually has a bit of character.

Patrick: Did express support for Medicare For All as recently as 2018, but when asked during a CBS This Morning interview this week about his position, Patrick has since changed his views. “No. Not in the terms we’ve been talking about,” he said. “I do support a public option.”

The headline is a joke, right? If not... yikes.

She posted her displasure with a negative review in a public forum to millions of followers, and then publicly approved when people said vulgar things about the women who didn’t think her books, which are specifically written for teenagers, were the best pick for college students (some, yes, are still teens, but most

It might not be super racy by today’s standards but “jiggle TV” as it was known, shocked people at the time (female protagonists in bikinis, or in nothing but a towel, or other sexy outfits, running around with bosoms bouncing...) It was ratings gold for ABC, but controversial.

Great review! Yours and Sepinwall’s are my must-reads after watching each episode. The official podcast is great, too (they’re only doing one every three episodes.)

I’m loving Doomsday Clock and HBO’s Watchmen. Although the last issue that came out (#11) was the weakest, which is unsettling, as I’m really hoping Johns nails the ending. Fingers crossed...

I think it can be a little repetitive at times (even if each season changes up the premise a lbit) but for me we’re near the end so I’m very curious how they’ll end it. Maybe take a break and come back? Or just find something more to your liking? Have you watched Veep?

I liked the episode (more a solid B+ if giving grades) but I didn’t love the part where Chidi said he could respect Simone’s point of view after she decided to not try to help a fellow human escape from falling into a giant (hell?) pit. I don’t know why Chidi would respect that.

I agree with some of his points, the ones bemoaning which movies get made by studios these days and the lack of room for riskier pictures not based on existing material, but he lost me with, “Many of them are well made by teams of talented individuals. All the same, they lack something essential to cinema: the

I find the reviews relying on Peteypedia to be more frustrating than relying so much in the reviews on the original comic.

Hungover actually!
