Thanks for this. Their version of Eleven made me smile (as does Cookie Monster eating, well, anything.)

Bummer they’re spacing out the sequels so much.

Be nice if we can get the bundled Hulu (with no commercials) and Disney+ but without ESPN. I don’t want to pay extra for a channel I don’t want. Was hoping streaming would solve that. Ah well.

Noel does give a great interview though.  Hopefully you can like those.

Plus, now Indiana can bring in this guy, and maybe get less pushback from (shitty) fans as it’s kind of a hail mary, so to speak...

I think he was trying to relate to a group of younger people what it would be like to lose the idealistic young leaders of the day at an early age, and how that spurred him into politics. For him it was MLK and RFK and for them it would’ve been like losing Obama. Still a distasteful thing to say, but I think that was

I don’t disagree but Booker and Harris are more moderate, no? Maybe that’s just compared to Warren and Bernie. I could be wrong!

Another supercut of awful Kelly comments...

It is a bit of a silly story for sure. But an opportunity to get recommendations.

Conan’s podcast is a lot of fun, but SO MANY COMMERCIALS. I know I can fast forward of course, but not when driving. The Dana Carvey one and Julia Louis-Dreyfus ones were my favorite.

I liked Homecoming a lot, but yeah, despite the Iron Man stuff (which was like you said, fine.) I thought Far From Home was mostly bad, but clearly I’m in the minority on that one (and happy others liked it, especially my niece). I did love the mid-credits scene, though. And hoping the next movie brings in Kraven to

Another long-time reader hoping for a transcript, so I can enjoy this (once great?) feature again. It’s my favorite recurring feature on the site so hope it comes back.

I think you’re intentionally exaggerating but Ditko was plotting the stories tightly as his run went on. Nothing random about it. Then Stan added the memorable dialogue with a lot of the characterization.

Huh. I thought Raimi captured the comics almost perfectly (Spider-Man 2 captured the Romita period, especially.) Our current Spidey has had a billionaire mentor/father figure who looks out for him and gifts him lots of high tech weapons (even from the grave.) Up until the last few minutes of the 2nd movie, Peter

“In other words, it made a ton of money off of Far From Home, so Sony thinks it no longer needs Marvel’s involvement to make good Spidey movies.”

Well, Sony won an Oscar for “Into the Spider-verse” so they can certainly make a great Spidey movie without Marvel.

Jill Biden is a really smart women, making a really dumb pitch for her husband. Hopefully she’ll get better at it.

Which Democrat can win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan? (And possibly Arizona) That’s mostly what concerns me as we can’t win without them.

Yeah. And I don’t blame them for wanting to do something else. It sounds like it was exciting but also a grind over time. I just really wish they had handed over the reins to someone else capable as part of their exit rather than end the show too quickly.

I agree they did handle the characters better (mostly) but had to swerve because the showrunners made the terrible decision to do two final short seasons, thus emphasizing fast-moving plot and great spectactle rather than let the story breathe and reach the same plot points, but with the great characterization intact,
