Good review. I agree he maybe could’ve gone a little further, explaining how he (hopefully) now understands the difference between just getting consent and getting enthusiastic consent (the idea that of course no means no, but also yes means yes), and somehow making that funny.

My guess is they’re making Sprite a female character in the MCU. I think it’s the only younger character from the main Eternals group.

She was 13, I believe. That was seen as part of the joke (that she pretended to be older, by a lot.)

It’s got a lot of great jokes, and makes good points about modern society.  Not as hilarious as some of his other specials, maybe, but worth a watch if you like what he does.

I think Ansari and the writers definitely knew the fictional character Tom was carrying out behavior that was wrong, but the social mores of the time were that people found it funny to show characters so brazenly being offensive (see Barney on “How I Met Your Mother” for a more extreme case). We were laughing at how

If you want to avoid the touch bar and don’t use your Mac for gaming or high-end graphics work, I’d just go with a refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro from the Apple website. Still has regular USB ports and everything!

Yeah, it’s crazy that no one sees Tony Stark as incredibly selfish for putting all living creatures in the universe through the hell of thinking half their loved ones died all because he wouldn’t let Banner put things back the way they were (could even said do that but let his daughter live and he and Pepper remember

Did you see the movie? It’s not very good. Especially coming after the last live-action and animated Spidey movies, which were both top tier (especially the latter.) This is a pretty big step down.  Has nothing to do with the imagined identity politics you brings to your critique of the review.

Now that take made me smile!

Snark I can usually appreciate, but when someone seems to be threatening to shoot up a movie theater and the police haven’t found him... seems less funny. But generally enjoy the snarkiness on the site!

Why the first sentence with the links? Someone is threatening violence on employees and the public. How are other people’s past behavior (that you linked) related? Unless you’re saying you feel that past behavior was the cause of the current threats?

You’re right. If you put on blinders so that “electability” becomes you’re only focus, you can end up with people who’ve done some really crappy things.

“In short, they seem committed to protecting Biden’s reputation and candidacy. And while the co-hosts love to tout that The View is helmed by five women, it’s clear that’s a choice they’re making at the expense of so, so many other women.”

Maybe they truly think he has the best chance to able to beat Trump, and thus

Ha! That took me a minute. Well played.

Yeah, it felt it lost steam and probably should’ve just been 100 issues (instead of 144, I think?)

Kirkman’s column at the end of “Invncible” was just pretty thankful, so my guess is something along those lines.

Thanks!
