What I Gotta Do is her masterpiece.

I'm surprised there's no mention of Middlesex's Lefty and Desdemona Stephanides, since author Eugenides somehow succeeded in making their story both creepy, yet sort of romantic.

Agree. Cher's dad was very briefly married to Josh's mom and the fact that they were only step-brother and sister for a very short period of time - and thus their relationship feels more akin to a Beatrice / Benedict-type love/hate vibe than a big bro / pesty lil sis dynamic - takes away any residual ickiness for me.

Disrespectful and cliched. I wanted to punch in the throat every cornball on my FB newsfeed that day who posted the same hacky ass "Guess she shoulda said yes, yes, yes to rehab" joke. Ugh.

I attended a screening of "Amy" last week and the predatory world of constant tabloid media (and to an extent, the celebrity-gossip hungry public that eats it up) obviously took a toll on the already-struggling Winehouse. In one scene, the paparazzi purposely provoke her and then laugh when she finally snaps and

I think Everett's on next week's show, too. I'm hoping she closes out the season finale with a performance akin to last year's "What I Gotta Do."

Haven't watched this yet, but does Bridget Everett sing or just make a cameo in the witch trial sketch?

I hope they feature some music from Billie Holiday. I love him.

My sister had a dream Left Eye died the night before she did. She wasn't a TLC fan or anything, just had a random dream where she was watching a news report that announced Left Eye had died. She's never had a prophetic dream before or since - how odd.

I'm kind of surprised Courtney didn't play herself in the movie just for the paycheck.

It's definitely a dark reference.

Yeah, it's non-essential for me, but even still, contains a surprisingly high number of laughs. And am I mistaken or was the house Homer was holed up in modeled on the house in which Kurt Cobain killed himself?

I stopped regularly watching the new episodes long ago, but have caught some of the later season shows since The Simpsons came to FXX and it's rare that I don't laugh out loud at least once. I'm not ashamed to admit that I even laughed during the 90s episode - the insulin reveal killed me and the cheesy, obvious song

It's a testament to how many truly great Beatles songs there are that practically every chosen track has at least one other viable alternative to represent that letter. Obviously, In My Life is outstanding, but I might have gone with I Should Have Known Better, which is just so fun to sing along to.

'Twas Lisa that brought round Dinah the Christmas whore.

I couldn't agree with you more. I am a huge fan of David Sedaris' work and I can't think of another writer who consistently makes me laugh as hard as he does. Yet the tone of this felt defensive and angry, as though he felt the need to prove that Tiffany's ultimate estrangement from her family was her fault and no one

Agreed. Detox's monochromatic look was designed to stand out in a sea of bold colors, sequins, and over-the-top makeup. It was just a genius way of upstaging everyone else.

I'm not aware of one, but there really should be. A lot of the queens are on instagram, though, which is where I found some great pics of Bianca's sickening look last night.

I personally love a shady queen and I totally agree that Ging's shadiness was mitigated by her self-deprecation. Because if you can't hate yourself, how in the hell are ya gonna hate anyone else?

Bianca's silver glitter goddess look last night was eeeeverything and almost as good as Detox's black and white screen siren look from a few years back. Almost.
