Wait, *this* site? As in, What’s Left Of The AV Club? Man, perspective is a thing, because from what I’ve seen, they take genuinely every opportunity (or create an opportunity) to try to be as edgy as a teenager who’s just discovered Universal Studios in their general disdain for all things Disney.

Hmm, yes, I was just saying the other day, I was saying, lads, do you know which diegesis feels facile to me? And the lads, the lads said, a facile diegesis? Well, they just couldn’t believe it, what? But I stuck to it, I said, that’s right, a facile diegesis. That American wotsit, Arrested Something-Or-Other,

Ha, “news”, that’s a good one.

I tapped out after the first few episodes, but my wife powered through Fatal Attraction—believe it or not, they did leave it open for the possibility of a season 2. Apparently it was so open ended that she was genuinely surprised when I told her the show was only eight episodes, and she’d just finished the series.

Reckon they ain’t gonna take too kindly to many a’ them furriners in Georgia, naw sir.

Speaking as one…I don’t think it’s cause you’re not American. Or at the very least, the two people who haven’t ever heard of this have found each other online, and that’s nice. We can start a club; I’ll bring the cookies.

Also, their belts have the first letter of their names on them.

Wow, I didn’t think anything could make me want to watch Tenet less, but here we are.

Ok, “the hype” around Barbie is real because you’re doing your part to create it—is there actual, legitimate hype around the movie, or is it just The Internet (and, let’s be real, specific corners of The Internet) creating it and wishing really hard?

So much bloat. And yeah, DH1 feels like it was pretty much just a camping trip, with a Spider-Man 3-esque painfully awkward dance sequence.

I think you’re underestimating the number of people who are likely to write a tell-all…let’s say “book”.

They are not grifters. They may be liars, pigs, idiots, grifters, but they are NOT batboys!

Truly, I’m stunned that this movie which the internet seems to have loved since the first Spider-Verse movie came out is making money. Seriously, who knew a scrappy little underdog movie like this one could make it in this day and age.

So be it…Jedi.

Speaking of lyrics, I always thought the original lyric was “the men up there don’t like a lot of blather…after all dear, what is idle prattle for?”, and not the word babble twice in five lines, but whatever.

I honestly thought the link about diminishing media literacy was just going to link back to the AVC homepage.

There was a brief—five seconds, maybe?—span when I thought this was going to lead to a Forgotbusters revival, or something similar, but no, another pointless listicle. But yay clicks! Hate clicks count just as much as love clicks, so why try?

The Doctor lies.

Octopussy is a good movie—as far as I can tell, people see a picture of Moore in clown makeup out of context, think “hurr hurr, him’s a clown now, that ain’t Bond”, and miss the bit where it’s an incredibly tense situation where no one in the movie will listen to him or take him seriously, so he has to defuse a bomb

I’ve never seen the show, I don’t plan to see the show, I don’t especially have an interest in the whole kerfuffle you’ve created here, is my point. (Congrats on all the clicks, though, rage clicks count just as much as love clicks.)
