i saw my first one in the wild today. it was dark grey, not offensively ugly. i was on my bike at a crosswalk, waiting to cross. the light of the street i wanted to cross turned yellow, the corvette was maybe 200 yards from the intersection. the old guy driving gunned it and accelerated to about 70 in a 40 zone,

i finally saw one one the street the other day.

I’m driving a Cruze Turbo Diesel. It’s more of a transportation appliance.

T-tops would be epic but probably aren’t going to happen, I’d settle for some sort of glass panorama roof like the F-Type. The original Z was a poor man’s E-Type, they should be gunning for making this a poor man’s F-Type. A manual option would be a great way to distinguish the new Z from the Supra.

I don’t know. 100% of the time, deceased individuals also show sudden pulmonary arrest.  It’s uncanny.  One minute they’re breathing, and the next they’re not.  

(Having said that, I am now I’m wondering if when you’re on a heart bypass machine you’re technically alive or dead.)

100% of deaths are the result of cardiac arrest. That’s what “dead” means: your heart stopped beating. The devil is in the root cause analysis.

This is still my favorite wheels off moment in F1.

I don’t know of many Dixon fans, but everyone acknowledges his greatness. I have never rooted for him, but I don’t dislike him. He’s been such a consistent force and has seen so many great drivers come and go in his career and he’s still doing what he’s always done.

Exactly right. When you see the detached wheels cartwheeling around after an accident, they always have the suspension (with tethers) attached. Because the anchor points on a carbon fiber chassis can not stand the forces exerted on it by the wheel impacting something (wall, another car).

There is no way to completely prevent this. The tether is not holding the wheel or the tire on, it is holding the HUB on. And the spindle the wheel spins on can break off in a crash. The wheel itself can break away from the hub with the hub staying attached to the car. This can only reduce the chances of the wheel

I’ll be shocked if electric cars aren’t soon the dominant form of Pikes Peak racer. No power loss at altitude is just too huge of an advantage now that batteries have the necessary duration.

That said, I just... don’t care as much about Pikes Peak since it’s been fully paved. I’m sure it’s safer, it’s definitely
