This, like much of Apple's tech (although they typically apply it in the best overall package), is not new. Do you remember Alpine's PulseTouch technology that debuted in 2005?! Novel idea, hope it sticks this time around.

I find it a beautiful engineering mantra that is behind the quality and evolution of everything they do. They're never 100% satisfied, so they push on and continue to innovate.
