The country will probably survive. But it’s going to suck for several decades. Republicans control two of the three branches of government, and will control the third for the next generation.

It depends what you mean by “America”. Americans with life threatening conditions who lose their insurance may very well NOT survive this. Americans who have their status in this country challenged may very well NOT thrive. American kids who get shot as a result of a “stop and frisk” gone wrong will NOT grow.

We didn’t have nuclear weapons then. We have just allowed someone, who thinks Putin is just fantastic, to possess the nuclear codes.

Except not everybody survived. And what was the cost? Where might the world be if all those shitty things hadn’t happened? If America simply existing is the goal, I guess it’s hard to lose. I’d think most people would want to aim a little higher.
