CBP isn’t a parent organization. ICE and CBP are different arms of DHS. And DHS, while yes, full of bureaucrats, has demonstrated that they suck at making ICE keep accurate track of people.

I get what you’re saying, but ICE is terrible at keeping track of people. They put in incorrect, misspelled, or incomplete names. They transfer people without completed paperwork. It was an issue well before the Trump adminstration. It’s hard to find older sources since the kids have rightfully received so much…
