Same. (And I'm hoping it's an older, more grandpa-ish Jay, honestly.)

oh dang you were right re: that line.
That scene (including Barry saying he'll be with him every step of the way) was fantastic.
According to an EW interview, Teddy Sears was told that he was going to be Zoom pre-production, but it wasn't fully confirmed that it was happening for real until the 'Caitlin sees the doppleganger in the park' scene.
Barry using Zolomon's trauma against him was pretty appalling. (Like, god, Barry, you went through something similar, remember?)
Maybe he thought he'd be killing someone else?
Not even HEY GUYS I LEAPED UNIVERSES BY RUNNING AND I MADE A FRIEND I'LL TELL YOU ABOUT IT LATER :D
Because the writing for this episode made no fucking sense.
I still think that the mask guy is the /real/ Jay Garrick. (I /hope/ he's grandpa age or older aka not Teddy Sears, but that's probably unlikely.)
at this point I honestly think their main goal was to "fool" comics fans and they…didn't think too far beyond that? Eobard Thawne was pitch-perfect to what he was in the comics, and Hunter Zolomon is pretty much a mess. (Not that the comics should be the be-all-and-end-all, of course.)
They all stood around like NPCs in a PS1 game and it was TERRIBLE
Y'know what I'm just going to use what I already wrote up on my blog about this episode. (Cisco using his powers was a joy but that's the only joy of this episode.)
My old-school Superman fan dad and I both agreed that it was CLEARLY going to be Krypto the Superdog in that pod.
There's also the whole "sometimes you think you sound GREAT in your head and…not so much when it comes to actually doing it" thing.
I BARKED out a laugh at that, myself. And ooh, I like that interpretation. (Though I do think it also ties into Josh's 'oh my god' at what Rebecca just told him.)
I don't think she was going to wait by the phone anyway.
That scene actually made me think about them actually being together - however briefly it would last. He understood her! He did the rhyme swap and said "West Covina" instead of "Rebecca" just like she did with him! And the sheer musical warm-colors lighting of it all! It really made me understand why Rebecca liked him…
The Rebecca/Josh West Covina reprise was honestly one of my favorite moments of the season. It was so heartfelt and charming.
My family is acquainted with a family who actually got an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Their house was made accessible (they have a daughter who uses a wheelchair) but the taxes and mortgage as such was too expensive so they had to sell it and move back into a smaller, presumably non-accessible or less-accessible…
Yup, same here. I went from 'maybe there's /some/ chance this could be decent, but yeesh' to 'oh hey it got good reviews I'll give it a shot' and I've been here ever since.
