Here’s the thing; don’t overreact to bad-faith takes by the Conservative media.
Yeah, it’s literally impossible to just look at a diamond and determine if it’s lab grown or mined, because they’re structurally identical. In fact, the only real method is because mined diamonds often have imperfections (coloring, cracks, etc) that reveal that they were pulled out of the earth.
Devils advocate. Does it matter if going out once to get something to eat pollutes more than the production of such a Diamond? I’m all for a sustainable world, but If it’s such a small fragment of the overall pollution, I’d rather ignore this one and rather not have small children mine for Diamonds in Africa.
So honest question? Who are these rabid fans of Britney? Like are these fans from back at the height of her career? Like 30 something year old people who are still following her and obsessing over her? Are they teenagers? I just don’t understand who these people are that care so much about her? Just seems really…
New series:
If NBC had given him a fair chance at The Tonight Show I wonder if he would’ve eventually improved enough in the ratings to stay there long-term. The thing that makes me wonder that is that after 4 years at TBS he was still trailing the Stewart/Colbert FakeNewsHour.
“since it’s been telling stories about hero cops who always get the bad guys and hero prosecutors who always find the right way to lock them up for 30 years”
I wonder how much people’s view of the police is really due to “copaganda” and how much is due to it being part of human nature to want to see things in terms of good guys and bad guys.
Ok. Getting closer. Everyone cares about the rights of the wrongfully accused. How about the rights of those that actually committed crimes? I want a show about the actual defense attorneys and advocates that do that.
But religious and “personal belief” exemptions have caused places to lose the herd immunity for measles. So that used to work, until people decided that Jenny McCarthy knew better than doctors.
One way we can boost vaccinations is to make it a requirement (much like MMR, etc. already is) for school enrollment for people who are of vaccination age.
I’d imagine the recent huge religious festivals that rolled through there played a big part of that.
And keep in mind that the figures being tossed around don’t account for kids, who aren’t being vaccinated. And account for about 25% of the US population. So when they are talking 50% of the population being vaccinated, that is 50% of the 75%.
India presents an interesting case. They were expecting to be ravaged by Covid-19 much earlier and it simply didn’t happen. They thought they’d dodged a bullet, couldn’t figure out how or why, and decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth and eased restrictions. That decision was pretty consequence free for a…
Well when this inevitably backfires on the GOP — especially when the elderly in Florida are no longer able to vote by mail — I wonder which state will be the first to overtly make it illegal to vote if you are black.
Yeah, this line of thinking always confused me... in most states (ie. not OR, CO, etc. which have all mail voting), elderly people are more likely to vote by mail. And, in most cases, elderly people tend to lean conservative. They get this one whiff of minorities using this system, and they go full fucking Birth of a…
The theme in these issues always seems to be, “You can’t tell me what to do.”
I think Vern was the only designer who wasn’t serving his own ego, he truly wanted to do something nice for the home owner.
I really don’t get how they are following Trump and yet not taking the vaccine.
