Please do Tokyo Godfathers for this series! It might be my favorite Christmas movie. Has all the warmth and uplift you associate with a holiday classic while going to some really dark intense places. When are they giving RIckman his nomination? The last Harry Potter should have done it, but I guess the Academy wanted to keep ignoring all the great supporting turns in that series (Imelda Staunton and Jim Broadbent also had nomination-worthy turns in the 5th and 6th movies respectively).

I'm surprised Beasts of the Southern Wild wasn't considered an independent film. But I guess they knew it was so awesome they had to bump it onto the main list?

It came out in 2010 in Japan and Oscars can't be awarded to foreign films released domestically over a year past their initial release date. I'd see that, assuming he did it as an animated film because I don't know how Okami's style would translate into live-action without coming off as overly gimmicky.
