I guess the promise is supposed to be a reassuring counter to the type of apocalyptic thinking that takes over a lot of people (but especially religious types, ironically enough).

People being allowed to say whatever they want doesn't free them from having to accept the consequences of being horrible. Being a comedian doesn't mean you live without consequences. Especially when his "joke" wasn't really a joke so much as TELLING A PERSON IT WOULD BE FUNNY IF THEY WERE RAPED.

Too bad Frank or Francis fell through. The world needs more original musicals and the world needs Jack Black to star in them. And if it's really one of the greatest scripts ever like Black said it was, then even more reason it needs to get brought back someday.

I believe Runaways casting notices went out a while ago, but I don't know what's come of the film since. I hope it gets made and is good, because Vaughn's run on that comic as one of the best I've ever read (too bad about what happened to it when he left).
