Um, the Pokemon complainers called this thing”Dexit”. You know, comparing it to a disastrous right wing policy rooted in Xenophobia and lies. So... that connection already got made?

I think since Gamergate, Kotaku’s instinct - particularly Nathan’s - is to push back against vocal/angry gamer movements. Like, whoever’s shouting loudest, they’ll take the other side.
I would think that IT would demand all social media and public facing accounts use a password manager...ah, who am I kidding, they don’t listen to IT.
You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders.
This is the best take. I play through each of these games as it’s own individual adventure, and this looks to be another one of those.
Man, people really want to shit on this game. I, for one, am a 34 year old man who can’t wait to play this and go on a new adventure with new pokemon to catch and doesn’t give a single shit whether I can use the same team I’ve been using since 1998.
Any RPG that doesn’t let my inactive members get something to keep them up to speed is basically wasting my time. Nothing says 'fun' like an absolute halt to your progress while you take a team that's 30 levels behind, backtrack multiple zones and start hours upon hours of grind just to get them up to speed.
This is pretty much exactly what I wanted to read about Sword and Shield.
Anyone who has yet to listen to that episode of Tempest needs to do so, stat. (Tempest overall is damn good, but that particular one is an absolute standout.)
